"We are pleased to say that at long last short mat bowls is fastly growing as a new leisure past time in Paphos and Limassol. Several hotels have included short mat bowls into their winter programmes with enthusiastic response from those seeking a holiday with the opportunity to play long mat and short mat bowls.

I thought you might like to know that a few ex pats have started a short mat bowls club at the Crazy Spoon on the Coral Bay Road, Kato Paphos. The owner of the Crazy Spoon has purchased four mats, bowls, etc. etc. for us and is keen to help us get started. We play Thursday evening and Sunday morning and we can expand this to whenever we like. The room is very large and our cypriot friend is willing to buy us more mats if the club takes off. We have had an enthusiastic response from people who have never heard of or played short mat bowls before and they are really beginning to enjoying it.

We have already played a friendly with some visitors from Scotland who were over on a bowling holiday and if anyone visiting Paphos who would like to play short mat bowls with us we would make them very welcome."
